Hi

I split the question into three parts.

Identify intervention skills and approaches that are derived from it:

Role-playing
Graded Task Assignment
Systematic desensitisation
Activity Scheduling
Cognitive Dissonance
Self help
Conditioning
Validity Testing

For a full description of these approaches please go here:

Demonstrate application of these skills to counselling situations.

A full description of systematic desensitisation for gambling addicts
can be viewed at:

(Pages 16-18)

Activity Scheduling is used by therapists to treat people with chronic
fatigue syndrome. By starting at a low level of activity and gradually
increasing, a level of tolerance to fatigue occurs:

Discuss potential applications with clients in welfare settings.

Behavioural Homework Assignments - The client is encouraged to act out
various situations away from the clinic in between sessions. This
helps to reinforce the fact that their irrational beliefs are causing
the psychological disorder.

Diary - The keeping of a thought diary by the client helps them to
learn when they are likely to encounter irrational thoughts that lead
to problem behaviour.

If you need the answer clarifying, please don't hesitate to do so.

Best Wishes
