I am sure finding a distributor in Texas would be a fairly easy chore.
Can you provide more detail as to what information you would like on
these distributors and your needs? This way, the Researchers can
provide as much information as possible for your specific
requirements.

The list is a good reference however, what licenses and process takes
place to establish a distributorship in Texas ? The list does not
answer how to set up a company in Texas that will distribute
California wine.

Hi sonoma,

Apparently while asking the question, you interchanged the subject
and question. The question when displayed was :
" how to find wine distributors in Texas "
with a subject of
"How can I set up a company to distribute California wine in Texas ?"

I also requested you not to rate the question if you had a
clarification. Never mind, it can't be reversed.

Anyway, the process involves the following steps :

1. OBTAIN MATERIALS PACKET FROM LOCAL TABC OFFICE
This packet contains:
* Information on the license or permit type for which you are
applying.
* Blank Application Forms and Personal History Sheets
* Conduct Surety, Tax Bond Forms or other bond/security forms, if
applicable
* Other forms as required by local governing bodies

2. COMPLETE THE APPLICATION

3. CALL FOR SCHEDULED TIME TO RETURN TO OUR OFFICE
Although appointments are not necessary, it may be advisable to call
their office and schedule a time to return to their office for an
interview. At that time they will review your application. Failure to
call ahead and schedule a time may result in you having to wait or
make more than one trip.

4. INTERVIEW
At the time of your interview with our local office, they will check
your application and Personal History Sheet(s) and begin background
check(s). The background check may take up to two weeks to complete. A
delay in the issuance of your license or permit will be inevitable if
they do not receive your completed Personal History Sheets at this
point. The interview will take around 30 mins.

5. NOTICE IN NEWSPAPER
All applicants for a permit (including late hours permits), except
for a BG or BQ, are required to publish a notice of the application at
their own expense in two consecutive issues of a newspaper of general
circulation published in the city or town in which the place of
business is located.

6. TAKE YOUR APPLICATIONS TO OTHER STATE, COUNTY, CITY OFFICES
All copies of your application must be taken to other state, county
and city offices. When you obtain your materials from your local TABC
office, they will give you a list of these offices. After the
interview, take your application to each office in the order that they
are given on the list.

7. FINALIZE AND SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION
At this point, please return to the office with the following
completed documents:
* Original completed applications, and any required attachments
* Cashier's check, money order, or firm check from corporate
permittees, made payable to the Comptroller of Public Accounts (if
permit) for the fees due
* Blue Temporary Receipt from the Tax Assessor's Office, if applicable
* Any existing license or permit for location

8. INSPECTION
If your location has not previously been licensed for the sale of
alcoholic beverages, has not been licensed during the past six months
or you are applying for a food and beverage certificate, brewpub
license, or minibar permit, at some point in the process a
representative from the office will be contacting you to schedule an
appointment to inspect your proposed
licensed location and answer any questions you may have. This
inspection will be necessary for the processing of your application.
Issuance of your license or permit will be delayed if this inspection
has not been conducted.

I strongly urge you to read the following document. It contains all
you need to know about obtaining a license

Instructions for Applicants of an Alcoholic Beverage License or Permit

The question asks how to set up a company to distribute wine. It does
not ask for a list of distributors that do so.
