Dear cecil,

The best official data available for this topic are homicide figures
for England and Wales, covering the years 1901-2000. I was not able to
locate similar statistics for Scotland and Ireland / Northern Ireland.
In England and Wales, for the years 1901-1970 there are only figures
for 5-year-terms. Annual homicide statistics are not available before
1971. Would this do?
