Looking to find a Resolution & Adventure medal that would have been
carried on Captain Cooks second voyage. Prefer Bronze/Copper? though
will consider Silver.

Are you looking for a replica? Or the real thing? Or just a picture?

I got the following info :

Silver medal; 44mm., near fleur de coin. London, Matthew Boulton,
1772.
A very fine example of the rare silver issue of the famous medal
issued for the departure of Cook’s second voyage in the Resolution and
Adventure. Only 142 (or 106 – there is disagreement) specimens were
struck in silver. The silver medals (and two in gold) were
commissioned by Banks for his private use and remained his
responsibility after his withdrawal from the expedition

Theres a picture here too

Hello fr8dog

Thank you for reposting the question.
I put the same comment in your previous posting but I add it also here
so that you will be notified by email.

Let me try to explain what is happening with the medal and you can
tell me how you want to proceed.

I contacted Bowers and Merena Galleries one of America's leading rare
coin dealers (you can find them at http://www.bowersandmerena.com/).
I contacted them long ago looking for a medal for you.
We kept in touch and now they have found one.
As they said, it's in a mail auction and they will try to purchase it
for you for less than 4000$ unless you specify a different maximum.
They sent me a picture of the medal through e-mail but I had to put
the picture on my web site because Google Answers doesn't support
images and that was the only way to make the picture available to you
without having your e-mail address.
I believe that the medal I have found is genuine but I am no expert
and all I can do is trust Bowers and Merena Galleries.
The medal is available for sale through a mail auction and the Bowers
and Mrerena Galleries dealer will bid for you.

Here are the contact information of the dealer
John Kraljevich
JohnK@bowersandmerena.com
tel 800-458-4646

you can tell them that this is about the medal that Silvia was
searching.

I really think that at this point you should take over and talk to the
dealer directly because there might be decision that you will have to
take in a timely manner.

Hello fr8dog

I read your last comment in your previous posting and I thank you for
the compliments. I am glad that I could be of help.
However I have to post an answer here for the Google Answers Team to
pay me
(it's all automatic and computerized and we are paid only if there is
and Answer). So I will just copy my previous comment here in the
Answer Box.
If you want you are also encouraged to rate the service at this point.
I will be happy to help you with future Wedgwood item searches.
