Hello

This site Ezine hub - your free newsletter directory
http://www.ezinehub.com/

They say on the site:
"EzineHub is a free resource to the ezine community. Newsletter
publishers can submit their ezines free of charge and, unlike many
ezine directories, EzineHub does not charge a fee for forwarding
subscribers."

"However, advertisers, seeking targeted subscriber audiences for their
services and/or products, will be charged a membership fee to access
the EzineHub database. Membership fees will not be set for several
months, but benefits will include detailed newsletter data on:

- number of subscribers
- frequency of publication
- description of ezine
- newsletter format
- ad rates
- number of ads/issue
- and more

For more information, please contact: sales@ezinehub.com

                                 ..o0o..

So, they will have the info you want, but you will have to negotiate a
fee with them.

Does that suffice as an answer? If so let me know and I'll post it
formally.

Ezine publishing is all the rage online thus, the rise of newsletter
directories has increased. If you do any amount of research on this
topic you'll find many directories to choose from, some free, some
that charge a yearly membership fee.

There is one site that started it all and is the "grand daddy" of
ezine directories "The Directory of Ezines" located at
http://www.directoryofezines.com the directory is not free rather fee
based but contains complete listings of ezines, their descriptions,
who to contact and how much they charge for advertising. The database
can be searched in multiple ways and is very thorough. There are over
800 listings. From the site itself:

"Your membership fee entitles you to unlimited access to the
information in the database for the period of time you purchased. As
we have found these ezines that accept advertising and gathered and
compiled the information into our customized searchable database, we
charge a membership fee for this service...saving you countless hours
searching for this information on your own."

"With the advanced search function you can perform multiple searches
all in step. For example, by category, by circulation, free ads
offered, is a discount offered, cost of ad space, format (HTML, text,
or website) and lots more."

Annual membership is currently 39.95 with a lifetime membership going
for 99.00.
You can register at the site and be up and running instantly.

If you search Google with the words "ezine directories +U.S. you'll
find many more directories such as:

Marketing Experiments
http://www.marketingexperiments.com/archives/ezine_promo.cfm
About halfway down the page you'll find a list of 16 ezine directories

Ezine Universe

Ezine Advertising
http://www.ezineadvertising.com/cgi-bin/pz.cgi

Ezine Ad Auction
http://EzineAdAuction.com
This site allows you to bid on advertising in an auction setting.

With ezine marketing you need to make sure that you are purchasing ads
in newsletters with opt in lists or you could end up in some hot water
with "Spam Cop". You also may find that smaller more targeted lists
actually produce more results then larger lists.

You should also test your ad copy with different headlines to find the
best order generator. Make sure you track the results by adding
tracking links to your url's. A good article on how to get better
results with your ezine ads by Randy Zakowski can be found at..

Another called "Ezine Click Thru Tracking" is another good read over
at
http://www.epdigest.com/articles/promotion/20011107/

Ezine advertising is one of the best ways to promote any online
venture. You can reach thousands of prospective customers very
inexpensively. I wish you luck!

I hope you find this information helpful.

Hi veteran -

Are these the types of things you are looking for? They tend to be
just listings for newsletters, newspapers, and sortof scholarly
journals. I don't know that they have ad rates - that may really vary
over time.

NewJour
http://gort.ucsd.edu/newjour/

NewPages (alternative newsletters & 'zines)
http://www.newpages.com/

NewsCentral
http://www.all-links.com/newscentral/

NewsIndex
http://www.newsindex.com/

These are all listed on AcqWeb
(http://acqweb.library.vanderbilt.edu/acqweb/journals.html), which is
an acquisitions resource for libraries and librarians.

Thank you librariankt
Your answer is certainly a good start. I understand the difficulties
with collecting ad rates, but I would think that a portion of these
publishers would make their current ad rates available in some public
database. Thanks again.
