I am looking for information about my greatgrandmother and her
family.'
She was Derretta Trause, married to Clark Markham, and died in a burn
accident in 1876 and is buried in Humburg, Wisconsin.
I have great information on the Markham's but zilch on the Trause. It
is
possible that this is not the exact spelling although my mother's
records record the name as Trause on several occasions. |

hi rlee
The only information I have found about your great grandmother is that
she died in 20 Feb 1877 in Eauclaire Co., Wisconsin and was married to
Clark MARKHAM born in 1831 (1830) in Peru, Clinton Co. New York. They
had two children Everett Andrew MARKHAM TUTTLE born 11 Jul 1874 in
Fairchild, Eau Claire Wisconsin, and Eva Markham Tuttle POWELL, born
1874. I found no mention of the way she died, nor anything about her
parents and her history. Her name was spelled slightly differently on
the sites where I found her details, and there is a contact email
address listed of the person who submitted this information, possibly
a relative of hers. If you like me to post this information as an
answer together with the email address where you can contact this
person, let me know.

Dear rlee,
I found ot that, according to family tradition, Clark Markham's wife
was French. So her first name would be very likely Dorette.

My question really centers on my greatgrandmother and her family. I
want to know information such as :burial site, dates, etc. also leads
to her family
as we have no records of where she came from, her parents, siblings
etc.
I have terrific information on Clark Markham and his family but
nothing on her.
I guess this means I want to establish and find a ancestral line to
some of her people. I am hopeful this clarifies?

I am not sure what I need to clarify. I have received information that
my great grandmother's name was Derette Travasee and was mostlikely
French. My original question had to deal with where she was buried and
information regarding her familly. Such as some line to parents and
siblings, at least, or as much information about her family as
possible such as where they came from?
I have a great deal of information on my great grandfather and his
family all the way down to my self and back to England in 1620.
Surely Derette's family had some history back as well as forward. They
woudl be my relatives just as much as Clark Markham's family. I
somehow feel that the Eimail person you speak of is a first cousin
Everett Andrew Tuttle
at EAndrewT@Va.Prestige.net .

hello rleee,
So far, no researcher has been able to find the information you are
after. I have submitted the information I have found as it could prove
to be a useful clue to you in your research, or to other GA
researchers who attempt to answer your question. The email which I
mentioned is "maxinem@fortwayne.infi.net" - I found it on the
Ancestry.com web site and it was listed as a contact email address. I
tried to contact this person but unfortunately, it seems this email
address no longer works. I hope one of my colleagues has better luck.

This is the third time I have been asked to clarify my original
question. In the previous two times I have attempted to give whatever
information I have. If the potential answerer would be more specific
about what kind of clarification he needs I might be able to help. I
have no further thoughts on how I can clarify my original question
beyond what I have already don.

DEAR RLEE:
Congratulations on your success in finding the family information you
already have.
Please seriously consider going to the website www.rootsweb.com, click
on the MESSAGE BOARD section, and find the message board for "EAU
CLAIRE COUNTY, WISCONSIN and post your query there for information on
your greatgrandmother--since you have been advised that she died Feb
20, 1877 there, a professional or amateur researcher there could
suggest sources to find verification of the death (perhaps probate
records, or other public records--since a newspaper obit is most
likely not available) or other information that would help. Official
Wisconsin death records only go back to 1907. If you know where CLARK
MARKHAM died, then you should try to get HIS death certificate to see
if perhaps she was alive or not at the time of his death, or at least
publish his date of death so that a researcher could help you track
down relevant information.
There appears to be no such town as "HUMBURG, WI" but there is a
HUMBIRD, WI (in Clark County) and HAMBURG, WI (in Marathon County),
but I'm not sure exactly which town you were referring to, since I
don't know where or how you got your information.
I suspect that the information you are seeking IS out there, but it is
going to take a little bit of "digging" to find it. I wish you
success!!
SINCERELY,
