Hello protechp,

rotxe.dll appears to be a component of Creative PlayCenter v2. Windows
is trying to start it on loading, but cannot find the file.

The file is normally found in this location:

c:\program files\creative\playcenter2\rotxe.dll

Use Start > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs, and perform an
uninstall of Creative PlayCenter, if it appears in the list and you do
not require the program. If the problem persists after the uninstall,
download, install & run 'regcleaner' to remove any old registry
entries left over from this or a possible previous uninstall:

http://www.vtoy.fi/jv16/shtml/regcleaner.shtml

(use Tools > Registry Cleanup > Do Them All)

Also, check the following locations for a file suggesting 'Creative
PlayCenter 2' - possibly you have a 'startup file' from an old
installation, still trying to fire up the program when you switch on:

IC:/Documents and Settings/All Users/Start Menu/Programs/Startup/
C:/Documents and Settings/Default User/Start Menu/Programs/Startup/
C:/Documents and Settings/[any others]/Start Menu/Programs/Startup/

Try moving any files which act as shortcuts to 'Creative PlayCenter'
out of these folders. Don't delete anything, in case you pick the
wrong file - just move to the desktop, so you can easily replace them
if neccessary.

If you require to keep the program, visit the following URL to
download Creative PlayCenter v2.5; reinstalling should then reinstate
the missing file.
(unzip the downloaded file to a folder before running the install
program):

http://www.afterdawn.com/software/audio_software/all-in-one/creative_playcenter_2.cfm#download

Search strategy:
Searchterms used in Google Groups search:
rotxe.dll
Searchterms used in Google Web search:
Creative PlayCenter

I hope this solves your problem. If it does, please let me know to
allow me to post as your answer.

Best regards,

gan.

2. Put your Windows XP CD into your CD-Rom.
3. Open Run... menu (StartMenu > Run) and type "sfc /scannow"
