I need to buy a projector to use with a Dell laptop to give PowerPoint
presentations. I am a lawyer and the presentations will be in court
and in conference rooms. The projection distance will be from 10 to
30 feet. The screen lighting will not always be dark (judges get
nervous if you turn out the lights, and jurors go to sleep). I would
prefer to buy a new projector with a warranty. My budget is $500 - to
$2,000. I do not need a lot of features, since the projector will be
used exclusively with PowerPoint. The projector should include
cabling. I need good resolution because much of what I will be doing
will involve documents.

Dear Buzzstar –
I have listed out several projectors that fit into you pricing
spec. You will find that the price you wish to pay is extremly low
and there are several listed that exceed it but by no more than 300
dollars. There is also a summary at the end of what I thought would
work for you.

I am adding this link because the site has almost every projector
listed. It was top hit on bargain projects but they do not list the
prices. Therefore I am not confident on their ability to deliver.

If you are really looking for a great deal. Ebay of course always has
items at a discount. I looked under new projectors and found this
one below. This is one you would have to check back with periodically
though to find one.

Sony Cineza VPL HS1 HT Projectors
 Asking 1399.00

Last but not least I found a great site that will compare several
projectors. I picked three that I listed above. The InFocus LP240,
the InFocus RP10x , and the Sony VPL-CS5. I have no way of putting
the table into GOOGLE so I have left the link here and verified it
works directly.

After seeing the above comparison breakdown and having used an InFocus
projector for presentations I would advise spending the extra 50
dollars and going with the Sony. I know it is high end for you budget
but you will not regret it in a courtroom setting. Issues you are
going to run into that I have found are:
       Lighting. Especially with print materials.
Focus Anything under 24 font starts to get blurry with
InFocus (at least the one I used )

In closing I hope this helps you find the projector you need.
If you have extra funds upgrade, you won’t regret it. If you need
further clarification please let me know.
