Hi granna,
Most email programs allow multiple users to check their email, and
keep each user's email separate. To do this, the email program will
keep a "profile" for each user. Each profile contains that user's
configuration, such as their email address, what email server to
connect to, and how they prefer the program to look and run.
When you choose to send a web link (or URL) by email, your web browser
activates your default email program. The browser tries to tell the
email program to create an email with that URL inside. If the email
program uses profiles to distinguish between users, it asks you which
profile you want to use to send this email. The biggest reason why it
needs this is so that it knows what email address you want to be
sending from.
I can't offer any more specific details, since you didn't specify
which web browser and email software you're using. But I hope this
description has been clear enough so that you understand how the two
programs are working together and why it asks you to choose a profile.
Good luck emailing!
