Name of island off the east coast of Africa, with current US military installation?

The island is called Diego Garcia.  This is the only island off the
east coast of Africa (in other words, in the Indian Ocean) that has a
United States military installation, as can be seen from a review of
this most recent list of bases from the U.S. Defense Department:
