I was watching the TV show "24" and in the last episode, the Police used a Cordless Bolt Cutter to cut off a couple of padlocks. It appeared to be slightly larger than a cordless drill and had by-pass blades which seemed to be at least 3/8" thick. Judging by the speed I would have to guess that the drive mechanism was hydraulic. I am looking for the manufacturer(s) of such a cordless tool and/or where they might be for sale. |

Hi sfeldner, Thanks for asking your question on Google Answers! I've found some tools that seem to be exactly what you describe from the TV show. I found a site that seems to have a wide range of cordless, handheld, power-drill looking cutting tools. Their website is: http://www.izumi-products.co.uk/cutbatt.htm You may also be interested in handheld hydraulic cutters that are operated with two hands. http://www.uec.com.cn/cutter/products.htm I was also able to find some safety information on hydraulic cutters at: http://www.jems.com/firerescue/e0111b.html I hope one of these items are what you are looking for. Please feel free to ask for clarification prior to rating this answer! Thanks again for using Google Answers. Search terms used: "hydraulic cutter" | |
