I have been investigating the world of consumer dialogue, so far I have over 50 different methods of innovative communication and identification. You will find them listed below, I need another 10! I'm proposing to pay per answer so there is the potential for a $100 - but first I'd like to see whether my request is clear by the type of answer I receive - so if they're good and don't fit within the categories I already have (listed below - please check them carefully), I will happily pay out for your answers - so for example where I have biometrics - the method of validating an individual through their physical characteristics, I don't need answers such as finger printing, retinal scanner, etc. Another example would be SMS mvouchers - these are both text and picture barcode vouchers. The answer should consist of a title and a brief description of what it is. I look forward to seeing what comes back Thanks Mark ps. if anyone is interested in any of the below please let me know and I'll happily share what I have with you. SMS Text Messaging SMS Data Collection SMS Quizzes and Competitions SMS Games Events - exhibitions/conferences/clubs/parties Mobile Instant Messaging - message from pc to mobile phone Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS) Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) Website Data Collection SMS - IVR - voice message / text message via sms MPEG4 Hand Held Computers Enterprise Marketing Automation SMS Loyalty Campaign SMS Vouchers Email Marketing Rich Email Interactive Voice Response Advergames - internet games which involve a companies brand/product Interactive Vending Machines Interactive Kiosks E-motional Technology (recognises a consumers emotions) One-to-One Dialogue Automation and Management Speech Recognition Technology Interactive Agents / bots Targeted Microsites Walled Gardens Interactive Points of Purchase Devices Interactive Online Sweeptakes and Contests Online Communities Instant messaging Online Games Online Coupons Interactive/smart Card Based Systems Mobile interactive Marketing Biometrics - recognition Interactive Systems at Petrol Stations - internet enhanced video interaction. Hi Marco8055, Interesting project you have there! I have some suggestions for you for innovative forms of communication and identification: 1. e-matchmaking 2. online consulting (my favorite example: www.answers.google.com ) 3. m-matchmaking: mobile matchmaking, exemplified in the Japanese "love beeper" that was all the rage when it appeared a few years back: see http://bbcr.uwaterloo.ca/~xjqiu/lovegety.html Various versions of this device have appeared by now, such as the gay matchmaking device "gaydar": http://www.cnn.com/2000/US/02/29/gaydar/ These devices are certainly an innovative form of IDENTIFICATION! (Most of the ideas you mention seem to be about communication.) Still in the love department, we have finally: 4. v-sex: Check out the Virtual Sex Machine http://www.vrinnovations.com/ 5. Interactive Television I recently had digital cable TV installed at my house. You have the option to participate in interactive, real-time polls during a show. The results of the polls appear on the show and can affect the show's progress (game shows etc.) Other ideas that have been discussed are to choose your preferred viewing angle on televised sports events, etc. That's it for now... I hope at least one of the above suggestions qualifies, so this would be an acceptable answer to your question. If you accept more than one suggestion, you may use the tipping feature to tip me an additional 10$ per extra suggestion, as you promised. And remember - you owe willie-ga 10$! I suggest that you post an additional question entitled "to willie-ga only" where you ask him to write the name of the current U.S. president. And if you still need more 10$-ideas, post follow-up questions. If you need clarification please use the "Ask for clarification" feature and I will try to help. Regards, dannidin |

Thanks - seems to be a sex thing going on here, but m-matchmaking, works for me from the point of the technology. - the first two - fit under online communities (message boards and search engines). Interactive tv is digital tv and I'm really sorry but I can't access v-sex, which may be a good thing :-). But very interesting to see how people interpret the question. |

There are a bunch of debatable skills, and science fiction methods, which may be reality soon. ESP, demonology, telekinesis, telepathy, clairvoyance, animal magnetism, the transporter, the holodeck, subspace radio (which is much faster than light) Neil |

Another interesting one is online journals, or weblogs. They are slightly different than online communities in that the writer has much more freedom of thought and it's more one-way communication of ideas. Also, you should check out ubiquitous computing and the concept of place-based messaging. The following info provides a good description... "When you go outside for lunch, you find several virtual messages are floating in front of restaurants," Rekimoto's scenario goes. "Some are commercials, but many are messages that were created and attached by previous visitors, giving information and ratings on the restaurant. You select a restaurant by looking at these messages. While you are at lunch, you remember that you will have visitors at noon. You select an icon representing your office in the eyeglass, and attach a voice memo to it..." http://www.wired.com/news/technology/0,1282,15719,00.html This site also has some interesting discussions on mobile weblogging and ubicomp... www.smartmobs.com - kb |
