Do you mean you want to add command-line parameters to iexplore.exe
(in the shortcut) that alter the proxy settings for the browser?

Thank you for your research, and my apologies for my lack of clarity.

I need to learn more about batch files in Win2K. One thing I would
like to do is make a batch file that will make it easy for a novice
Windows user to change his/her proxy settings in Windows 2000.

I would like to use one command to modify the proxy settings in
Windows 2000.

Thanks again,
-Brett

Applecore,
        You mention that you want to call a batchfile, but then you
say you'd like an easyway for a novice to set their proxy server. By
creating a text file and entering the following text:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings]
"ProxyEnable"=dword:00000001
"ProxyServer"="172.16.0.1:3128"

Save the file, and then rename it to a .reg file.
Your user will simply be able to double-click the file to set their
proxy server setting to whatever value you enter in the "proxyserver"=
spot

Check out that registry key, thats all you'll have to do
