I want to find an obituary for Steve Allyn McClendon. I believe he

between 1980 and 1995.

Clarification:

Was an obituary written? If so, I'd contact the Chicago Tribune and
take a look at their archives. As far as I can recall, you can search
the Tribune archives online.

Good Luck!

The reason you may have had difficulty locating the obit is because of
the incorrect (though understandable) spelling of the last name. Try
Steve A. McLendon--the Social Security Death Index shows he was born
Sep. 16, 1952, and died July 1990 (but it doesn't show what city/state
he died in). If you are reasonably certain that the death occurred in
Chicago area, then you can visit the website www.vitalchek.com and
order his death certificate for less than $5 from the State of
Illinois. The Chicago Tribune does NOT have this obituary, which is
not uncommon--Chicago has so many citizens that there is not enough
space to publish ALL of the death notices for citizens in that area or
in the suburbs. If they don't have any record of his death at the
State Vital Statistics Office, then post your person search on the
website www.the-seeker.com or www.peoplesearch.com and a researcher
can trace his SSN for you to find out his address at the time of
death.

SINCERELY,
