Hello,

This could easily be a very large question, but I'll assume from the
value you assigned to it that you are seeking just the essentials.

In its most basic sense, Gandhi's power stemmed from the willing
support of his followers.  Their democratic will of millions of people
was behind him and gave him the power to confront the obstacles of the
system that was in place.
