For the life of me, I can’t figure out how to get Outlook 2001 for Mac
to sort and list my contacts the way I want (First-name Last-name,
with the sorting to be done on the first name).

The only column I see is “File As”. I even tried to make a custom
“view” and add just the fields I wanted, but the fields “first name”,
“last name”, or even “full name” were not on the list of fields!
What gives?

Hi Sherpaj,

As I don't have a Mac sitting in front of me, I want to offer this
answer to your first. This would work in the Windows version of
Outlook 2001 perfectly. I imagine it should work the same in the Mac
version too, but, before I "Answered", I wanted to ensure that it
would indeed work.

To change the default File-As and/or Full-Name order, one would click
the "Tools" menu, then select "Options...". From there, click the box
which says, "Contact Options", then change the file-as and full-name
order as desired. Click OK to all the open windows and voila, resorted
contacts. (At least in Windows.)

Let me know if this works for you..

Thanks!
