Thanks,

- The version of Windows CE you are using,
Microsoft Windows CE 3.0

- The name/version of the operating system you are running on your PC,
I have Windows 98/NT/2000, I prefer to use 98. If Win98 is not
support, Win NT/2000 should be OK.

- The name/version of syncronisation software you use.
ActiveSync 3.1

If you need additional information, please feel free to drop me a
message.

Hello, and thanks for the clarification.

There is a detailed article describing how to connect your
PocketPC to Windows 2000 on the PocketPC Passion website. Be sure
to read the notes at the bottom of the page. (Note that this page
is very graphic intensive and takes a _long_ time to load over a
slow connection.)
http://www.pocketpcpassion.com/General/LawrenceBates/connectwin2000.htm

Connecting your PocketPC to W2K in this manner doesn't require any
extra software. Browsing the web on your PocketPC through Win98
is also possible, but does require an extra piece of software
called a proxy. The basic idea is that you configure a proxy
server to run on your desktop, and then configure your Pocket IE
browser to use the proxy. The AnalogX Proxy is free and
recommended on CEWindows.net. Here's the URL to the AnalogX Proxy
page:
http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/proxy.htm

Here's a CEWindows.net article telling how to get the newsgroups
through the AnalogX proxy--I'm including this one because it
contains a few things which may be useful in setting up the proxy:
http://www.cewindows.net/faqs/proxy-news.htm

The "Windows CE Proxy FAQ" should be helpful in configuring your
Pocket IE browser to use your proxy. It also gives the URLs to a
couple of additional proxy servers.
