I have a collection of prints and paintings bought from the artists
early in the 20th Century. The artists include Max Stern, Max
Clarenbach,H. Vogeler and Eugen Kampf. Can you give me names of German
auction houses, who would be interested in selling these for me.

hell, ralphjoan...

That is quite a collection of art that you have. Congratulations!
Having lived in Germany for over 3 years, I was interested in finding
out about the availability of fine art auction houses. I found
several auction houses, but focused on the ones that sell
art/paintings and mentioned 20th century/modern paintings. There are
several auction houses in Germany that I am sure would be interested
in discussing the option of auctioning those works.

Kunsthaus Lempertz - Koln (Cologne)
One of the oldest and most famous auction houses in Germany is
Kunsthaus Lempertz. Founded in 1845, Lempertz is a leading auction
house for books and contemporary art.

For more about Kunsthaus Lempertz:
http://www.internationalauctioneers.com/int/member.asp?member=lempertz
or visit their website at http://www.lempertz.com/ (English and German
versions available)

Another house in Cologne that may be interested would be Van Ham Fine
Arts. Since 1959, Van Ham has offered auctions in antiques and fine
art. In 2001, Van Ham held an auction for a painting that fetche
DM5.7 million (2.9 million Euros), the highest selling auction sale
for a painting ever in Germany.

You can visit Van Ham at http://www.van-ham.com/ (English and German)

In Hilden is the Hilden Auctionhouse and Gallery. For 30 years, a
gallery and auction house of fine art. They can be found at
http://www.ihr-auktionshaus.de/home/english.html (limited English
pages)

Established in 1893, Auction House Michael Zeller in Bindergrasse
holds 5 major auctions each year. They are at http://www.zeller.de
(English and German)

At http://www.schloss-ahlden.de/, you will find Kunstauktionhaus
Schloss Alden. With 3 to 4 major auctions a year as well as
consignment options, Schloss-Alden covers antiques to fine art.

I wish you luck and success with your auctions! Thank you for your
question and if you need any further clarification, please let me
know.

Regards,

ralphjoan..

It appears a character was dropped from my greeting to you in my
answer. That should have been "Hello". :)
