John72..

Thank you for your question regarding TrimIt diet pills. When I
entered the term into Google
(://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=%22trimit%22+diet&btnG=Google+Search)
the first results to appear referred to The Australian Competition and
Consumer Commission is pursuing criminal action against a man, Peter
Foster, for fraud and misleading business practices. Upon further
research, Foster is denying the claim of the ACCC. He has been
convicted previously for fraud. A coporation named Chaste
Corporation, was established to sell distributorship rights to
individuals to resell TrimIt. The company collapsed last Decemeber.
You can see the ACCC information on the case at
http://203.6.251.7/accc.internet/digest/view_media.cfm?RecordID=540.
There was a preliminary hearing on November 8th in the case.

With that being said, the information I can gather on the product
itself is minimal, but here is what I have found. TrimIt is made out
of an extract of a rare Asian fruit called the tamarind. This extract
contains Hydroxycitric acid (HCA), which appears to be a very popular
ingredient in several weight loss products purported to be all natural
and herbal. However, several studies have shown that the there may
not actually be any additional weight loss associated with HCA
(http://www.healthwell.com/delicious-online/D_backs/Apr_01/supplements3.cfm?path=hw).

Obviously, there are varying claims on either side of the arguement
for and against HCA. If you feel that HCA is a product you would like
to utilize for weight loss, I would recommend locating a different
source other than TrimIt based upon the issues that company is facing.
You can find a wide variety of products utilizing HCA other than
TrimIt even sources that sell HCA in capsule form.

I do, however, recommend that before you begin any weight loss or
excercised program, that you visit your physician and discuss your
options and plans with him or her.

Thank you for your question and if you need any additional
clarification, please let me know.

Regards,

-THV

Hi John72 and THV,

Just a quick comment re: tamarinds. I would not call them "rare"
fruit at all, they are widely used in Asian cookery and medicine, and
sweetened to flavour candy, drinks and lollies. Early Maccasin
traders left tamarind seed with the Aboriginal peoples of northern
Australia, and tamarinds grow wild throughout the area, where they
form a traditional food source. They're quite nice, but are quite
tart, and used as a souring agent in many cuisines. I expect that's
partly the hydroxycitric acid content...
