How can I purchase a sterile urethral sizing catheter to determine the length of a female urethra in millimeters. I am looking for a disposable, sterilze catheter that can be slid into the urethral opening, and a balloon type "stop" can be deployed in the bladder so that the reading can be made externally with no accessories and simply reading the preprinted length measurements on the catheter. The range of lengths should be 3-10 cm with 0.5 cm intervals. I wish to distribute these catheters around the world and require a product that is CE-marked, currently on the market, and readily available. I expect to purchase several thousand, and hope to pay less than $10 per. |

Curious. In any case, the female urethra is usually 3 cm or less in length. There are catheters on the market that operate as you describe: a balloon at the end to keep it in the bladder. It requires a syringe to inflate and deflate the balloon. One cannot help but wonder what you have in mind. And, although the catheters are sterile, if not used properly urinary infection would certainly be a significant problem |

Thanks for the comment. We intend to distribute the product to urologists who need to determine the urethral length in a fast and simple procedure for a clinical application. We are really just looking for a manufactured Foley catheter with gradation marks on the exterior of the catheter so that when the balloon is inflated, the urologist just tugs on it to place it at teh bladder neck and then looks takes a reading off the Foley. Thanks |

Contact Bard, they manufacture disposable urological catheters and other items. you could also investigate Asian medical device manufacturing and sterilize/package the catheters here yourself or contract with someone. |
