Marshriv --

The major electronic retailers send returns back to manufacturers,
which can remanufacture or refurbish them. Sales of these used or "B"
goods are tightly controlled by the manufacturer.

Because they are major outlets, they also have inventory return
privileges as part of "inventory protection" clauses in their
contracts. Manufacturers and retailers are increasingly managing
inventory to a minimum level by using computerized systems.
