More evil than the Devil
Rich people want it
Poor people have it.

Faith23...

Interesting riddle you propose. And when you look at the answer, it
becomes abundantly clear as to why the 10 year olds get it and the
PhDs do not. You did, however, leave out a line as I have heard it:

More powerful than God
More evil than the Devil
Rich people want it
Poor people have it.
And if you eat it, you will die.

The answer is

Thanks for your question. If you need any further clarification,

I am sure that right now you are thinking that I haven't answered your
question, when in reality I have. Break it down by each line:

What is more powerful than God? Nothing
What is more evil than the Devil? Nothing
What do rich people want? Nothing
What do poor people have? Nothing
If you eat NOTHING, you will die.

Hence, the answer your riddle is nothing.

Thanks again for your question and I hope you enjoyed the
philisophical side of this riddle.
