Great question! As a huge fan of college athletics, I have found that
watching the smaller schools can be just as exciting, if not more,
than some of the bigger schools. These kids play for love of the game
and nothing more.

To qualify as a D-III institution, schools must sponsor at least five
sports for men and five for women, with two team sports for each
gender, and each playing season represented by each gender. The
compares to better know Division I schools, where the requirements are
sponsorship of at least seven sports for men and seven for women (or
six for men and eight for women) with two team sports for each gender.
Each playing season has to be represented by each gender as well. D-I
also has additional attendance, stadium size and other requirements.
You can learn the difference between the 3 NCAA Divisions at
http://www.ncaa.org/about/div_criteria.html

There are 422 (296 active, 26 conditional) Division III schools. As
opposed to listing all 422 schools, here is a link which breaks down
each school alphabetically and each conference alphabetically:

clarification, please let me know!

outstanding research, and done with great enthusiasm, you are a credit
to this service, and I would gladly use this again, when necessary. I
have a new sports drink I wish to present to them, and since we are a
small company, and overlooked much like Div. 3 schools are, I see us
as kindred spirits, remember this name, Sport Safe, cause in time you
will hear about us...thanks JTG
