CRC refers to Cyclic Redundency Check, which is a method used to
determine whether a file is corrupt or not.
Your installation program is most likely a compressed file which
contains within it the various files needed to install the program.
The CRC error indicates that the contents of this file have become
corrupted, probably while you were downloading this file from the Net
or copying it from a media.
Since the file's contents are corrupt, it will not be able to extract
the needed files correctly and hence, connot install the application.
The simplest solution is :
  - If you downloaded the file from the Internet, try downloading the
file again. You might want to use a download manager like GetRight
(www.getright.com ) to protect your download from errors.
  - If you copied the file from a CD/Floppy, try copying the file
again. If you are using a floppy, run a Thorough Scandisk check on it
with surface testing enabled.
If the copied file still gives errors, then probably it was
written wrong onto the CD/Floppy. try to get another copy of the
CD/Floppy and try again.
Alternatively, if you can provide the name of the program you are
trying to install, we could probably find a download site for it on
the Internet.

Also while installing, make sure that no other programs are running,
and that your hard disk has enough free space.

Hope this helped.

The programme I downloaded is Incredimail...When I download,do I need
to close everything, including my AVG Anti Virus?

Although it is not strictly necessary, I feel that it would be best if
you did not run any programs in the background. This includes your
antivirus.
However, in the interest of safety, after you disable your antivirus,
just download Incredimail. Do not visit other sites or download other
programs.

After Incredimail has been downloaded, Scan the file with your
antivirus. Then start the installation. After it is complete, enable
your antivirus.

You can download Incredimail from the website at
http://www.incredimail.com/english/download.html

You might want to download using Getright, which is available at
www.getright.com

If you are unable to download IncrediMail, you can get it on a CD for
US$8.95 plus shipment. For instructions, see
http://www.incredimail.com/english/faq/getcd.html

Hope this helped.
