Are you referring to a national or regional East-West high school
all-star game. What specifically do you want to know? Do you happen to
have a date of this event?
What would you like to know about Ernie Ortiz?

I am searching for any information on the 1950 regional East-West High
School
all-star basketball game that took place at Madison Square Garden I
believe in April. In particular, I am looking for information on the
MVP of that tournament named Ernie Ortiz. We are requesting any
statistical information, photos, and/or articles on Ernie Ortiz in
this tournament. He represented James Monroe High School, Bronx, NY.

I think that the best way to find this information would be to read
over local newspapers from the days around that tournament. (The
Internet is good for some things, but for pre-Internet news events,
microfilmed newspapers are typically better.)

I, too, have exhausted several of my favorite ways to find this kind
of information and have come up empty.
Perhaps there's a researcher who lives in the NYC area who can check
community newspapers from that month in the library.

Thanks for your advice. I believe you're right about the internet
being limited in regards to this type of research.
