The shortest route for driving from Stockholm to Moss is quite
straightforward, as most of the travel is along E 18, a major
intereuropean road (designated by the 'E' in its number).
Finding your way out of Stockholm will depend on your exact starting
point, but look for signs for E 18 (the road number will have white
letters on a green background). You should follow the direction
marked as Västerås, Enköping or even Oslo. Once on the E 18, drive
west past Västerås (107 km), Örebro (205 km), Karlstad (317 km) and
continue to the Norwegian border (442 km). Most likely, you will
hardly notice crossing the frontier - there are no border formalities
apart from random spot checks. Continue on the E 18 for 55 km, and
then turn left towards Moss on national road 120. (Moss will be
signposted at this point). You can continue on road 120/121 all the
way to Moss, or drive a slightly shorter route via road 151 and E 6.
The last few km to the ferry will be clearly marked by signs (look for
a "ferry" symbol).
The total distance between Stockholm and Moss along this route is 527
km. The driving time will normally be around 6-7 hours, not including
any stops.
