For a lab I added NAOH to chlorophyll-a and the aborpation spectrum
was not changed. When the solution was changed to acidic by adding
HCL the spectrum did change. There no longer was a spectrum at 650 to
700. I believe that this was a result of chlotophyll-a being
protonated but I do not know where it was protonated. My question is
where was chlorophyll-a protonated and why did this result in the
spectrum change?
