Hi Godot1896,

I have located the place of birth for Prebus, but I could not find his
date of birth. A good estimate can be made, as I have the date of
birth of a fellow student who worked on the Electron Microscope with
him. I would say they must be of approximately the same age. In
addition I have a couple of pictures of Prebus and a report on the
building of the electron microscope at the university.

Would this information suffice as answer?

Are you referring to "Albert F." Prebus?

Dear godot1896,

Albert F. Prebus, together with James Hillier co-inventor of the first
electron microscope at the University of Toronto in 1938, was born 19
April 1913 in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada). He died 16 December 1997 in
Columbus, Ohio (USA).
