I need a LARGE dog crate that is approved for airline travel. The
largest I found was Pet Porter and the dimensions were 27"x40"x30"
(height x length x width). I need something more along the lines of
45"X40"x30" Does such an item exist on the internet? If so, where, and how much?

Hi wolfnightshade,

I would be interested to hear what breed of dog you have! From what I
can see, to get near the width you require, you will need to get
something that is higher and longer than you require. If a 54" x 37" x
45" would be ok, following is a link to the "Best Buy". It's a used
crate, but was just listed on Nov. 16th so hopefully it is still
available.

54 x 37 x 45:

1. Giant Dog Crate For Sale: Midwest Model 99N: 54" x 37" x 45": $100.

I hope this helps. If you can't use any of the above, please let me
know (along with the breed of the dog) before rating this answer, and
I'll have another look. Quite a few years ago, our German Shepard took
the plane from coast to coast. We gave her tranquilizers before we
left, but unfortunately, the effects wore off before the flight was
over. We laughed for years after, recalling the airline employees
innocently opening the door of her crate (which we rented from the
airline) and how this large German Shepard shot out of that crate like
a bullet, seeing none of us, just knowing she wanted out and she
wanted out NOW. A great way to clear a room, I can tell you!
Sincerely,
hummer

Hi wolfnightshade,

A horse?? Sounds like you could use that used 54 x 37 x 45 crate that
I found!

Thank you for your thank you and the unexpected tip - I'm glad to hear
you found the information useful.

Good luck with the horse,

Thank you for the links! They are greatly appreciated, as I am
looking for a crate to ship a miniature horse. (30" tall at the
shoulder.) I also appreciate the extra effort that you put in
regarding links to flying with your pet; as a veterinarian, I may well
see about putting those links on my practice's website.
