Is this a duplicate of a previous answered question, or are you
seeking different information?
Are you still interested in information about list brokers?

I've had limited time to work on your project this week and have had
only limited success, but if you're willing to wait two more business
day, I *may* be able to do better.
Here's the kind of info I have so far.
"The best we can do is to provide you with a list of businesses
in your specified geography (i.e., zips, MSA, DMA, state, county, etc)
by
SIC code (standard industrial classification code). If you have an
SIC code
(or codes) for this, we can potentially do something (i.e., who are
these
buyers ... what industries are they in .... etc). We cannot however
pre-identify these buyers in the sample. You will need to screen for
them."
I believe it may be possible for you to purchase a more specific list.
However, I don't believe we'll find one that meets your exact
specifications.
It may not be out of the question to consider working from a targeted
list and having professionals screen to obtain the names of specific
buyers. This is common survey/business practice, which I could
explain in more detail if you wish. The data you want is obtainable.
The question is how much are you willing to pay to get it. Depending
on methodology required you could be looking at final costs ranging
from $2.00 to more than $5.00 per name.
I'd really like not to give up until I spend a couple hours on this
next week, but it is, of course, your call.
I'm assuming that you would be willing to arrive at some mutually
agreeable compensation should I find an acceptable method for you to
obtain your list.

refrain from any further efforts pending the results of her research.
Please post another clarification if you wish me to continue with the

able to provide the information. If there is something I need to

Hi cycas--
I'm sorry for any confusion. Let me try to explain the situation as I
see it.
As you may or may not know, we researchers work totally independently,
so I have no direct contact with abagail, nor she with me.
It appears from the various clarifications and comments that both
abagail and I are working on gathering the same information for you,
although, perhaps from different sources. Since gathering this
information requires significant time and effort (in my case emails
and telephone calls, plus the time of persons I contact) I thought it
better to wait until abagail posts the list she says she has for you
before continuing my research.
Should you then want/need to pursue the alternatives I've mentioned, I
shall be happy to do that. I'm simply trying to avoid duplication of
effort and, quite frankly, conducting a lot of research with no hope
of remuneration.
If you prefer to proceed in a different manner, I'm sure we can do
that also.

is clarify my question to whoever requests a clarification and wait
for an answer. If no one supplies an answer then I will close my

from someone and failing that I will close my question.I thank you for

Hi again --
If, indeed, abagail can provide you with a list of stores meeting your
criteria, but lacking the details you want. I can provide you with a
methodology to "fill in the blanks," so to speak by using standard
marketing research techniques. This information would be based on more
than 20 years of experience in that field.
If this is of interest, might I suggest, that you "split" your
question by withdrawing the current one (after giving abagail a chance
to respond) and reposting a question to abagail's attention for the
list information and another to my attention for the methodology --
with a commensurate split of the fee.
I'd very much like to help you, but am frustrated by the means by
which we must communicate, so I'm trying to come up with ways to work
within the system.

cycas-ga and nellie bly-ga;
I agree this is a frustrating way to communicate. I have a list of
around sixty businesses based in Mass. The list was relatively easy to
compile, the buyer information is more difficult so I do not mind
listing the information in the comment section and nellie bly-ga can
go from there. Let me know.

Dear Abigayle-ga You are very kind,However what I am really looking
for is the names of the food buyers for jams and jellies for the
various food stores. I have had no difficulty whatsoever in getting
the names of food stores in Massachusetts. What I am looking for is
the names of the food buyers for jams and jellies for these food
stores. That is why I offered $200. If neither you and nellie bly ga
can supply this information which I know is quite difficult to obtain
but not impossible then I will close my question and get the
information elsewhere. I certainly want to thank you both for your
wonderful help and interest but as I said the main thing I wanted was
the names of the food buyers for jam and jellies for these stores and
if neither of you or Nellie-bly can provide it I will close the
question and get the information elsewhere. Again I thank both you and
Nellie -bly for you help and interest. Many thanks

I'm sorry, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to help you. The
data you require is very specific, and I must conclude that you won't
be able to get it without third-party help, like a list broker.
I'm unlikely to find anything helpful to you. If you have an alternate
