If you have a particular word that you want to look up in a dictionary
or thesaurus, the quickest way to do that on Google is to search for
the word. The word you have searched for, if it's in the dictionary,
will be underlined in the center text above the Google search results.
Clicking on the underlined word will take you to dictionary entries
for that word. From the dictionary page, you can click on "Thesaurus"
and get thesaurus entries.
Here is Google's explanation of this feature:

Another strategy, which might work just as fast in some cases, would
be to search on Google for the word you want followed by one of these
words: dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia.
If you want a listing of dictionaries, thesauri, or encyclopedias, go
to the Google Web Directory ( http://directory.google.com ) and search
for one of these terms: dictionaries, thesauri, encyclopedias. Then,
click on the category that appears at the top of the page. To save
you some time, here are links to these three categories.
