There was a study done of 1,607 parents, "A Lot Easier Said Than Done:
Parents Talk About Raising Children in Today's America" conducted by a
non-profit called Public Agenda. Would this be the study you are
referring to?

Proper..

The report you are referring to is "A Lot Easier Said Than Done:
Parents Talk About Raising Children in Today's America" by Public
Agenda, a not for profit research organization. In that report, which
you can download for free until November 27th at
http://www.publicagenda.com/, it states "Parents aren't easy on
themselves, either. Six in 10 say parents overall are doing only a
"fair" or "poor" job of raising their children. Relatively few say
they've been successful in teaching their children important values
like independence and self-control. "

To download the report, you will need to register, which is free, and
then you will have access to the report.

Thank you for your question and if you need any further clarification,
please let me know.
