I have read that there is a recall of St. Jude's Mechanical Valves
which were used in 1997. I have a friend that recently had a heart
attack due to leakage from such a valve. I think there is a class
action suit pending and I would like to give her contact information
re: who to contact to see if she is eligible to join the class action
suit.

Hello toots69,

Yes, there is a class action suit in progress related to faulty
mechanical valves using Silizone coating manufactured by St. Jude's
Medical Inc. The case is being heard in the US District Court of
Minnesota. Information regarding the case, including recent
developments, is available at the following web site:
http://www.mnd.uscourts.gov/Tunheim_Mdl/index.htm

That site lists contacts related to the case. If your friend feels he
or she may have been injured by this product, s/he may wish to contact
the Injured Plaintiff's Lead Council, whose contact information is
here:
http://www.mnd.uscourts.gov/Tunheim_Mdl/Contacts/plaintiff_case2.htm

I hope this proves sufficient for your needs.
