mrfrog,
Thank you for such an interesting question! I had not yet read about
Tablet PCs till I read your inquiry! Apparently some electronics
sellers have not yet heard of this snappy new product either!
1)Screensavers
After scouring the Microsoft website, and searching the web, I could
not find the answer to the screensaver part of your question, so I
placed several phone calls. The computer department salesman I spoke
to at my local Circuit City had never heard of Tablet PC, nor had the
person I spoke with at Best Buy! I then called Frys Electronics and
spoke to John, who told me that screensavers that work on your desktop
Windows XP WILL work on the Tablet PC operating system. He said that
except for drivers for the touch screen, the Windows XP OS is the same
as the Tablet PC Windows XP OS.

To confirm this, I called Microwarehouse and spoke to Linda.

She checked with the PC specialists there who also said that any
screensaver that runs on your Windows XP desktop will work on the
Tablet PC OS.
According to this site, the Tablet PC OS is a superset of Windows
XP, meaning it sits on top of standard Windows XP, and allows
writing with a stylus on the screen, which becomes part of the
document.

So, if you have a favorite screensaver on your desktop, you can copy
it over to floppy (if it fits) or burn it onto a cd and install it
onto the Tablet PC.
2)Power Schemes
This Microsoft page has an illustrated guide to setting and
personalizing power schemes. They also recommend the Portable/Laptop
scheme as a good all around setting. Near the bottom of the page, the
last table shows all of the power scheme default settings.

Industry support includes Adobe, Corel, Scansoft, and Zinio systems
among others. Something I found to be very interesting is that
several magazine and newspaper publishers are working with Microsoft :
several prominent newspaper and magazine publishers, including The
New Yorker, Forbes Magazine, Slate Magazine and the Financial Times,
are working with Microsoft's Advanced Reading Technologies Group to
make their publications available to Tablet PC users.

Other interesting features of the Tablet PC:
With software developed and optimized by Microsoft for the new
platform, the Tablet PC can function as a sheet of paper.

because it uses the Windows operating system, Tablet PC will run
Windows XPcompatible applications.

You may not be interested in seeing photos of Bill Gates, but this

I hope this has helped you with this most interesting question. I
enjoyed learning about these new and expensive (around $2,000 USD)
devices, and from researching your question, a Tablet PC is something
I hope Santa will bring me!
If you find any portion of my answer unclear, please request an Answer
Clarification, and I will be happy to clarify for you.
