Hello, ggbertelli-ga!
The number of homeowner associations in all of Hampton Roads is
quite overwhelming, especially if you are including the entire area as
seen on the map at www.realtor.com/hamptonroads/nbregion.asp?st=va&poe=realtor
!
Although I did find a few associations that have newsletters posted
online and have referenced them below, it is a very difficult search
due to the extreme number of associations which exist in the Hampton
Roads area.
However, it appears there is definitely a demand for a comprehensive
listing of Homeowners Associations in Virginia! Therefore, the
Greater Hampton Roads Realtors Association has compiled a database
which allows you to search online property owner associations for the
entire state of Virginia!
Refer to the page at http://www.centerforrealestate.com/condo/. I
did a basic search by leaving all the fields blank, except for City,
where I typed in Virginia Beach. By leaving the circles blank for
condo or property owners, I received a list of several pages including
names and contact information for both condo and property homeowners
associations. Unfortunately, there were no telephone numbers.
Obviously, to do a search for the existence of newsletters associated
with each of these associations would take several days, considering
the fact that Virginia Beach is just one city in your area of
interest. Therefore, it might be more expedient to contact each
association by the mail contact listed, or do a www.whitepages.com
search to find a phone number.
The few associations with newsletter that I have found are listed
below:
Carriage Mill Homeowners Association

The Indian Lakes Foundation Homeowners Association
http://www.indianlakesfoundation.com/outside_frame.asp
While there is no visible newsletter on the site, it appears you can
advertise your business. You will also see several classified ads on
our web site. Some of them were provided to members for free (i.e.,
babysitting ads) and a majority of them where paid advertisements by
our neighbors and area businesses (i.e. lawn care, legal services,
etc.). We encourage you to support your neighbors, who are supporting
this web site by placing classified ads here; we also invite you to
contact us to have your classified advertisement placed on our web
site.
Contact information is on the website.
Highgate Greens Homeowners Association
http://groups.hamptonroads.com/profile.cfm?dirname=HighGateGreens
All contact information is on the home page. However, there is no
indication whether they have a homeowners newsletter on or offline.
Hillcrest Farms Homeowners Association
http://groups.hamptonroads.com/profile.cfm?dirname=HillcrestFarms
All contact information is on the home page. Again, there is no
indication as to whether they have an official newsletter, but there
appears to be a member website.
Thalia Wayside Homeowners Association
http://groups.hamptonroads.com/profile.cfm?dirname=TWHA
a group of 354 Townhomes located behind the Central Library in
Virginia Beach. Less then one mile from the new Downtown Center,
situated between the Thalia and the Wayside section of Virginia
Beach.
Contact information is listed on the site, but there is no
indication about whether they offer a newsletter.
Three Oaks Homeowners Association
http://groups.hamptonroads.com/ThreeOaks/
The website is under construction, and there is no indication about a
written newsletter. However, there is contact information listed on
the website.
Another firm which may provide a list of contact information for
Homeowners Associations and possible newsletter listings is the law
firm of Kaufman and Canoles at http://www.kaufmanandcanoles.com/.
According to a 2002 seminar brochure titled Legal Aspects of
Homeowners Associations at
http://www.james-city.va.us/pdf/humresour/jcckcbrochurev2.pdf ,
Elizabeth White, Esq. is considered quite an authority since she has
played an integral role in the development of residential planned
communities and condominiums throughout Hampton Roads. Perhaps her
firm has a list they can provide to you of all the homeowners
associations throughout Hampton Roads, since the internet is quite
limited in scope.
I realize you were hoping for a one-shot list of newsletter contacts.
However, even as I scrolled through the list compiled by the Greater
Hampton Roads Realtor Association and typed in specific associations
by name, it was hard to find newsletter information. Therefore, I
think the search is going to require some telephone contacts on your
part.
I hope this information has provided you with some places to start.
Let me know if I can be of further help.
