Hello paivatarget,

The IEC(International Electrotechnical Commission) is responsible for
setting all the standards you are seeking. I believe the standard you
are looking for is the IEC 60947-1.

Here is a page that makes reference to this being the standard:

Shcneider Electronic
http://www.schneiderelectric.com.tr/html/en/products/pcp/home/iec947.htm

Here is a direct link to the standard on the IEC page. You will not
find this document for free I presume, as it sold through them. The
cost is 253 Swiss Francs or about $173.00 as of today.

IEC 60947-1
http://www.iec.ch/cgi-bin/procgi.pl/www/iecwww.p?wwwlang=E&wwwprog=cat-det.p&wartnum=028314

There are numerous subsets of standards, and the one you would need
all depends on the type of low voltage installation you are dealing
with. An example - lighting and cables both have their own, but they
all full under this specification.

I wanted to post this as a clarification to ensure I was on the right
path. If this indeed answers your question, please let me know and
I'll post it as an answer, along with search details, and more
resources.

Thanks -
SgtCory

Hello Sr.
I have consulted this standard and I saw that this standard is under
equipments for electrical installations of buildings. What I need is a
standard under procedures for electrical installations of building.
Regards.

Hello again -

Great. So what you need is the international standard for the wiring
of buildings, to include such low voltage items as lighting etc... ?

Thanks again -

Hello paivatarget,

I'm glad you were persistant with your terminology. I found the manual
that you requested in the first place. I assumed the term 'electrical
installations of building', meant any generic installation. Without
taking up any more of your valuable time, here is your publication :

This page lists all of the publications that are a part of this
standard:

IEC 60364
http://www.iec.ch/cgi-bin/procgi.pl/www/iecwww.p?wwwlang=E&wwwprog=sea22.p&search=iecnumber&header=IEC&pubno=60364&part=&se=&submit=Submit

So to answer your question - the IEC sets the international standards,
and the standard you are seeking is under the IEC 60364. This what
this standard covers as per the site :

What this standard covers
"Covers: a)circuits supplied at nominal voltages up to and including
1000 V a.c. or 1500 V d.c. b)circuits, other than the internal wiring
of apparatus, operating at voltages exceeding 1000 V... "
http://www.iec.ch/cgi-bin/procgi.pl/www/iecwww.p?wwwlang=E&wwwprog=cat-det.p&progdb=db1&wartnum=027485

This would mean that low voltage is definitely included in this
standard. We are unable to view the publications online, but at least
we finally found the right one.

I suspect the part you would need is probably in this portion:

IEC 60364-7-714 (1996-04) (Extra Low Voltage)
http://www.iec.ch/cgi-bin/procgi.pl/www/iecwww.p?wwwlang=E&wwwprog=cat-det.p&progdb=db1&wartnum=020802

You can contact them to find which subsection is the appropriate area
you require:

IEC Contact page
http://www.iec.ch/helpline/contactus/contactus_entry.htm

You can order the publications at the site above, or learn more about
the standard at some third party sites:

How Do the NEC and IEC 60364 Help Provide Electrical Safety?

I hope this answers your question. Should you need any clarification,
please ask before rating, as I would love to offer more assistance.

To help find this answer, I searched Google for:

international electrical standards

nec low voltage

Thanks for the great question!
