I'd like to find an acquaintance's current place of employment.

Since this probably seems a little strange, I'll explain. I had a
nice friendly relationship with a bartender that used to live in my
city.

A while ago (after we hadn't spoken in a long time) he was gone. I
asked about him at the bar and they told me where he moved but that's
all they knew.

So, I've got plans to be in the city where he moved (NY) next month
and I think it'd be fun to see if I can go to his new job (if he's
still bar-tending) and just catch up.

Since we don't have any friends in common (that I know of) and the
folks at the bar in my town are no longer in touch with him, I'm
turning to the Internet for help! :) The problem is that most "people
searching" sites give you home phone numbers, addresses, background
checks (!), credit history (!!), and crazy things like that. Since I'm not a
flippin' stalker, I'm not looking for that stuff! Due to the
nonchalant nature of our friendship, calling him up on the phone would
be weird and uncomfortable. Instead, I'd just like to walk into a bar
and, with any luck, run into him.

Here are the data I have:
* First Name
* Middle Initial
* Last Name
* Two Former Places of Employment
* Approx. Age
* Old City and State
* Birthday (I think I can remeber)

Here is the info I'd like from a "people finding" site (I'll just call
it "site" from here on):
* Current Employment (It has to be current!)
* Any additional info is ok but will just be discarded.

Here are the data I'd like from Google Answers about a few different
sites:
* Site's Name
* Site's Cost For *Current* Employment Search
* Site's Guarantee (will I pay if there are no results?)
* Site's Credibility (does it look legit?)

If I'm going about this the wrong way, other tips are welcome as well.

I'm not expecting magic. (I know lots of bar-tenders in NY work
under-the-table.) But, maybe it's possible to catch up with an old
friend in an environment that we're used to seeing eachother in. And
he makes a Tom Collins like no other!

Thanks for any help.

Would it make any more sense for you to simply post what information
you have about him, and let one of us find him for you? (You could
make up the cost of a people-finder search, if it came to that, but it
probably won't)

I have some reservations about doing that. I don't want to violate
anyone's privacy. Although if someone thinks they could do it for
cheaper, I'd be fine with doing it outside of google. (Is that
against the rules?) If the services are too expensive for me, that's
ok, I'll still be happy with the answerer if (s)he does an ok job.
Also, any other ideas would be fine too. For example: is there a way
to find a workplace of someone without using the more expensive
services? (Government/public databases or something?) Thanks for your
help!!
