I am looking for TWO (quanitity) plasma/flat screen tvs that are 42"
or bigger. I am looking for the following models specifically
(however I will consider equals or greater): 42" NEC MODEL#42MP3, 42"
Panasonic MODEL#TH-42PWD5U or MODEL#TH-42PWD4UY , Hitachi
MODEL#CMP4121HDU. Please help me find wholesale sources where I can
purchase two of these flat panels for a price of $2,500 each or less.
Of, course I have looked on eBay, do you know other auction
sites/surplus sites/wholesale sites/classified sites/trade sites?
Though the search fee for this question is set, I will pay a $100
commission to the researcher who helps to find the items as stated
above. Thank you. |

Hello curiogeorges,
I was able to find a Pioneer, but I don't know if it would fit your
specifications. The price is about 35-40 dollars higher than you
wanted :
pioneer pdp 5030 for $2539.00 (50 inch)
http://www.ccs-equipment.com/plasmaPioneer5030HD.html
I couldn't find anything else remotely close to this price.
Let me know if this would an acceptable substitute -

Currently the lowest priced plasma display are the Pioneer Plasma
TV's. There are two models that are being sold at massive discounts.
They are :
- Pioneer PDP-5030HD 50" High Definition PureVision Plasma TV
- Pioneer PDP-4330HD 43" High Definition PureVision Plasma TV
Unfortunately, Pioneer has a Maximum Authorized Price(MAP) policy
in effect on all consumer Plasma screens. This means that a Pioneer
Authorized retailer is not allowed to advertise a price below the MAP
price. So, if a site advertises a price below MAP they are not an
Authorized Retailer and are not getting the product through proper
channels . This will affect your rebate status and possible your
warranty. The origin of the product may also be in question.
So, even though a lot of dealers sell Pioneer Plasma's at below the
authorized price, they do not advertise it on their website. Instead,
they ask you to call them to find out the price of the product.
The only store that advertises the price of the PDP-5030HD is
- LaptopKings - Pioneer Plasma TV's
( http://www.esale-store.com/PlasmaPioneer.html)
From the web site : "Laptop Kings offers new, laptops, notebooks,
Digital Cameras, Digital Camcorders, and desktops ... Save up to 50%
off their original retail price, all with free shipping". The blurb
doesnt mention the fact that they also sell Plasma TV's.Since they are
advertising the TV at below MAP, I am not sure whether they are
authorized Pioneer dealers or not.My email to their support address
bounced back.
Other sites claim to have slashed the Pioneer TV's prices, but ask you
to call or mail them to find out the prices. Here are some of them :
- DiscountPlasmas.com : The Plasma Professionals
( http://www.discountplasmas.com/plasma-tv-s-pioneer.html )
Toll Free Number : 1-800-204-4174
- PlasmaPlanet.com : Pioneer Plasma Displays

)
TOLL FREE: 800-304-2904
FAX 800-646-4574
SALES@PLASMAPLANET.com
You can also check out the price of Plasma TV's (including shipping)
at Price Watch (http://www.pricewatch.com/1/228/4349-1.htm)
For all the Plasma TV products, which had their prices listed, the
cheapest option was the Sampo PME-42V3 Flat Panel Television which had
the lowest listed price of $2999: For more details, see :

In your question, you have also mentioned flat TV's. Does the Philips
50PP9202 Flat Panel Television meet you criterion ? Check it out at :

The esale-store.com link you provided seems to be a scam. There is no
contact information on the site and the WHOIS information doesnt check
out on the domain. They also only accept wire transfers and western
union. More than a little strange. Also, the Philips link you
provided is not a flat panel tv, though the site link says it is.
Have you found anything else? Are there prices for the pioneer
displays? Thanks.

curiogeorges-ga,
As I have stated before, the authorized Pioneer dealers do not
advertise low priced Pioneer products on the web as this would result
in them losing their authorized dealer status. I have not been able to
find any mention of a Pioneer product within the price range you
mention on the web.
I have, however, mailed the various dealers inquirying about the
price. I will post their replies here as soon as I recieve them.
Also, have you tried calling up the various dealers at the Phone
numbers provided in my above reply ? You might be able to negotiate a
better price over the phone.
Meanwhile, is your $2500 limit absolutely rigid ?

curiogeorges-ga,
While you did say that you had already searched EBay, you did not
specify why the listings there did not meet your requirements. The UK
Ebay site lists a number of Pioneer Plasma TV's available for a
variety of prices from $1 to $10000!!
Here is a link for the searches I conducted :
- Ebay : UK ( http://pages.ebay.co.uk/index.html )
Search Terms : pioneer plasma tv
Results Page (
http://search-desc.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?GetResult&query=pioneer+plasma+tv&srchdesc=y&from=R10&ebaytag1=ebayctry&ebaytag1code=1&currdisp=2&itemtimedisp=1&category1=11071&combine=y&SortProperty=MetaLowestPriceSort&st=2&skip=50
)
- Search Terms : plasma TV
Only in category : Consumer Electronics > Televisions
Results ( http://search-desc.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?GetResult&query=plasma+tv&srchdesc=y&from=R10&ebaytag1=ebayctry&ebaytag1code=1&currdisp=2&itemtimedisp=1&category1=11071&combine=y&SortProperty=MetaLowestPriceSort&st=2&skip=300
)
The above searches found a number of auctions for 42/43/50 inch plasma
TV's. A lot of the current bids were below $2500. You may be able to
find some to suit your needs.
Here are some auctions you could check out :
- Pioneer PDP-4330HD 43 inch HDTV PureVision
