Amplifier. I would like to know what its features and perhaps its
appeal at the time of manufacture or today is. (Reviewed in 1973)

I am not quite sure what you mean by "Reviewed in 1973." Are you
looking for a review dated 1973?

I would love to have that review published in 1973, however, I was
trying to give some indication of how old the amp is. It is the only
information that I was able to find on that amp. I appreciate your
time looking into this question, and I am looking forward to your
answer.

I basically want the specs.

Hi tillah,

There are two references I came across in this regard. The first
reference, is in fact, part of a thread on the rec.audio.marketplace
newsgroup. The poster claims to have owned the KA-8004. I have
e-mailed him asking for further specs and will post it as an answer
soon as I get a reply.

An alternate reference is the Orion Blue Book, which you are probably
aware of. They have a variety of books on technical equipment like car
stereos, musical instruments etc. They also have an on-line lookup
option which you might want to try. Unfortunately though, they don't
have a listing of Kenwood's earlier products. You might of course, be
able to find an earlier version of the book elsewhere.

Sorry, I'm a bit lax about the links, but if I do get a reply from
that poster I'll elaborate on the links and the search strategies as
well.

Regards.

Hi Tillah,

I have found a source for a Kenwood 8004 review.

"November 1973
Sony STR-7055 am/fm receiver
Pioneer TX-9100 am/fm tuner
***Kenwood KA-8004 integrated amplifier***
Ohm F speaker"

You will have to go to the site
Here you will have to pay $5 for a copy. Please email

rogerr@sundial.net

with the info about the specific review you require.

warm regards and happy thanksgiving,

I think you did not intend to close this question? Am I correct in
that assumption? I appreciate the time you have taken researching the
information, however, I have found the information you have given in
the last posting/answer which was part of the question. I know it is
sometimes hard to navigate web interfaces, and there is no easy way to
undo a step once it was taken.

Thanks,
Tom

Hi Tillah,

I am not absolutely sure what you mean by 'close the question'.
However, if I have attempted an answer to the question, and if it is
acceptable to you, it means that the question is answered, and the fee
for the answer is accrued.

I felt that I had the answer to your question in both my clarification
and the 'answer' that I had posted before. Of course, this needs
approval from you, you need to accept the answer as consummate. Also
you may ensure this by rating the answer.

If I am completely missing you on this, please let me know.

As of now, to reiterate:
1. the question stands answered by me.
2. your rating, and comments, if any, about the answer.

Also, my intention was to try and find you the '1973 review' or a
source for it, which I did eventually and posted to you. I felt it
would be more complete an answer. I was not very sure if the
'clarification' post which had a URL to a Service manual would be the
right thing. Othewise I would have ventured to post it as an answer!
Another issue is that the service manual (which you may have no use
for, if you just want to know more about the amp) costs $22 whereas
ordering a copy of an old review from the site I posted in my 'answer'
is for just $5.

Do let me know if you need anything more or any clarifications.

warm regards
vinods-ga

Hi,

I was actually looking for the specifications for this amp. Watts per
channel and etc. I appreciate the time you spent researching this
question. I do not feel that this question has been answered, but I
will gladly pay you for your time. I will not rate this answer. Thanks
again for your time.

Hi Tillah,

I appreciate your forthrightness in your comments.

I feel that a major part of your question was addressed, namely a way
to get the review of this amp from 1973. From the review, you will be
sure to find the specs and probably much more. I will still try to
find the basic specifications of this amp.

As researchers, we do spend time on finding answers to questions, and
I value your appreciation of this very highly.

I hope you are aware that you can ask for a reposting of the question
or a refund.

Thanks again for your patience and understanding. I will be working on
finding the specs for you.

warm regards
vinods-ga
