One of our client would like to send a piece of used machiney from UK to India. The machinery is bought from a used dealer in the UK and reurbished. Every transaction is transperent and above board. Question: What is a "valuation certificate" pertaining to this transaction. Who issues it? Can a director of a UK registerd Project Management company and a charterd Engineer issue it? Has it got a standard format+ points to be covered ( such as remaining life etc)? addressed to whom? |

Dear mahakali-ga Valuation certificates for plant and machinery are issued by members of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors RICS. The valuations are under the RICS Appraisal and Valuation Manual otherwise known as the Red Book. It contains guidance on the various definitions under which valuations are made e.g. open market value. A surveyor will be able to answer all the questions you have at the time of valuation. (The Red Book is not available on the internet and is currently under revision). The RICS web site is http://www.rics.org/ The work of our members involves all matters relating to the valuation and sale of business assets including plant and machinery. This work is likely to include insurance valuations, corporate recovery, financial and business valuations, rating and taxation and compensation claims. To contact a surveyor use this link on their website: http://www.rics.org/public/find_a_surveyor.html or look in your local yellow pages for a nearby RICS surveyor. Please ask for clarification of this research, or if the links do not work, before rating the answer. answerfinder-ga Search strategy Variations of valuation +certificate +uk which led me to to RICS |
