Difficult.

My fathers first names were Percy Thomas. I believe my Grandfather was
English originally.

Other names my father used were " Hazlehurst " and " White "

My grand father wrote to us in UK in late 1950's, mentioning that thay
had a bad storm which damaged their farm.

A Percy Howles as found in the Social Security Death Index:

born: June 16, 1883
died: November 1976
Last address: US Consulate Canada
Social security number: 571-09-7531 issued in California
with the social security number you can ask the social security office
to send a copy of his application, which is $8.00 Amercian dollars.
The application will have his parents names and their locations at the
time of his app. It will also list his residence info, and his
employment info.
