I can give you the daily data for all flights in the USA and in
Europe, in the year 2000. Would this be satisfactory?

Hello
I have located some a global passenger traffic count 2001 (for year),
scheduled flights percentage changes (increase/decrease), global
aircraft air miles flown (year), and 1999 (year) global flight
departures (the 1999 figures may be a bit old for your requirements
and is not daily)
If this is sufficient as an answer let me know, but wait a while in
the event that another researcher is able to locate your exact
requirements first.

I can point you to publications for sale by an international
organization to which all nations of the world belong, which contain
statistics on the number of flight departures by month, quarter,
and/or year. (You could divide by the number of days to get the
average number of flight departures per day.) Would this be a
sufficient answer?
I know you've got three proposed answers now, and perhaps someone else
will come up with something better. Like lot-ga, I recommend that you
wait a few days to see if anyone has a good answer to post right away,
or whether someone has an even better proposal. Of course, if you
don't have much time, you could choose one the proposals right now.
