The black ice chest displayed at

http://www.whatevernot.com/design/fridges/black/index.html

has a 'Simco' logo, denoting the Simpsons Company - a Canadian company.

Can anyone tell me the year, model and any other information (selling price, and
ideally a scan of the catalogue it came from)?

Hello,

Wow - this information is hard to find!

I was not able to get you the exact details you wanted. However, I believe I
did come close.

I found a picture of 2 similar ice boxes, from the 1948 Eaton’s Catalog. A
scanned image of the page out of the catalog can be found at:
http://sca.uwaterloo.ca/~fashion/catalog/e48-073.jpg

The picture shows two sizes of an ice box similar to yours. The ice goes into
a space at the top, like your model. While your ice box has two outer doors to
the separate compartments, the Eaton's ice box has one outer door, with an
inner door that opens just the ice compartment. The two sizes shown in the
catalog are sold for $46.95 and $59.50 (including delivery). You may be able
to extrapolate basic information regarding your own model from this catalog.

A Robert Simpson Company, Ltd. catalog from 1922 can be found at the same site,
specifically at
http://sca.uwaterloo.ca/~fashion/catalogs.html
Unfortunately, there are no ice boxes in this catalog, not even in the pages
not yet scanned in.

I used the following terms to search: “ice box”, antique, Canada, “Robert
Simpson Company”, “Robert Simpson,” catalog, picture

If you have any other details about your ice box which might help me in
furthering my search, please “clarify” your question.

Enjoy your ice box. It looks like a very special find!
