Question ID: 112103
I have recently joined a not for profit arts organization in Manhattan
as the IT Director. I've taking a 3/4 cut in pay, and am basically
working with 3 year old computers, totally out of date software, and
basically a zero budget. I'm working 12 - 16 hour days, updating
software, and putting up fires. My goal is to build a highly tuned,
information resource management foundation that maybe can be used for
other not-for-profits. Things to do: Upgrade computers, get wireless
in, get people trained, etc. It's a great team, I have interns, full
time staff, and a new space. 18,000 sq feet to start! Anyway, of
course NO ONE thinks IT should really get any $$$. However I see it is
crucial! So what I'd like to find is a basic funding source! AND
THEN I WANT to start developing Open Source solutions for other
not-for-proftis.... HELP, one lonely programmer to introduce this
not-for-profit to the real world!!!! Funding Sources? Thanks...

of information available to help you get started with seeking funding.
Here’s a list that should directly address your needs.

Good luck.
