Have you ever had sex? I mean no discourtesy in my question - some
people, in fact, have not. If you have, this, from drspock.com, might
be your answer:
"But it can be present in the vagina for years, and has even been
discovered in elderly women who have not had sex for decades. So you
may have in fact contracted the infection from a previous partner and
not known it."

Furthermore, I would not, were I you, worry overly about this
condition. Again from drspock.com,
"Trich [its common nickname] has no significant medical risks. It
doesn't travel up into the uterus or fallopian tubes and does not
affect other parts of the body. It is purely an uncomfortable
annoyance."
You are taking measures to rid yourself of this annoyance, are you
not? If so, I suspect you will put the whole inconvenience behind you
soon.
If you feel this brief, but, I hope, direct answer is useful and
appropriate, at your direction I can post this Clarification as an
"official" answer.
