Hi, bluestreak,

Ok, I'm nosy but I have a question for you. One of the advantages of
being a Google researcher is the things one learns. I see you are
becoming one of our most prolific customers and we are grateful,
believe me. Are you compiling a biographical book for the 20th century
as regards unheralded musicians and sports personalities? Despite the
fact that I can't find the answers you seek, I am learning so much. An
example would be the Funk Brothers. I never knew... and I thank you
so very much.

Regards,
revbrenda1st

Revbrenda1st,
Thank you so much for your kind words. There is a movie out
now concerning the Funk Brothers, called Standing In The Shadows of
Motown. Motown in general and the Temptations in particular were my
idols growing up in the 60's. I'm 51 yrs. old. That movie touches my
heart because they are giving acknowlegement to unheralded heroes of
my. Spotlighting a forgotten page of precious history. As I offered
before, if you provide me with an email address, I'll email my
unfinished database to you. This goes for any other researcher who
might read this message. My database is a reference work unto itself.

It looks as if 3 of my questions are linked. It appears that Conrad
Von Der Goltz,Kirsti Hjort-Goltz, and Jan Polacek play in the same
piano trio. Also it appears that Kirsti is female, since it looks like
she married the violinist. I don't know if that makes searching any
easier. I can't find a name for their trio, which would have made it
so much easier.

Hello bluestreak,

I note your kind offer to make your database available.
Unfortunately, researchers are not permitted to provide their personal
contact details, nor to request them from people posting questions.
We'll have to wait until your website is up. I'm sure that it will be
a resource which will be frequently referenced in future answers here.

Hello again blustreak

I have found some information, but not the actual information you are
seeking, hence I am putting it in as a comment rather than as an
answer.

Searching on “Jan Polacek” and cello gave only one site, about cellist
Nicola Heinrich who was said to have played in Jan Polacek’s Cello x
12 ensemble - http://www.southampton.liu.edu/news/pressrel/pr99/music.htm
A further search on Cello x 12 found information about another
cellist, Wilhelm Gromes, in which the ensemble is mentioned, but the
name is given as Jan Polasek -
http://home.t-online.de/home/Wilhelm.Gromes/

I then searched on “Jan Polasek”. The impression from the searches is
that he is still an active performer. He plays in the Trio
Ponti-Zimansky-Polasek. An Italian concert organization has concerts
lined up in 2003 and 2004 for the Trio Ponti-Zimanski-Polasek
http://www.acomitalia.com/index.htm (go to the “exclusivity list” link
and also the “chamber music link”
Several web sites give the information that Polasek taught (and maybe
still teaches) at the Richard Strauss Konservatorium in Munich
http://www.bratschist.de/streichquartett/streichinfo.htm

Contact details for the Konservatorium are:
Fachakademie f. Musik München Richard-Strauß-Konservatorium der
Landeshauptstadt
Kellerstr. 6 81667 München Tel.: 089/48098415 Fax: 089/48098417

There is a web page with contact details for Robert Zimansky from the
trio and his agent at http://www.musicedition.ch/interpret/Rzimans.htm

It might be possible for you to get into direct contact with Polasek
through one of these two leads.

Hi tehuti,
Just wanted to thank you for your searches on my behalf. It
sounds as if Jan Polacek might still be with us. Which is more than I
knew before. I will try to use those resources to see if they go
anywhere. Thank you tehuti. These questions I'm posting are the
remaining die-hards I'm trying to clean up.
