Hi jackieyu,
I have found a list of the top 14 pharmaceutical companies along with
their revenues and profits for 2001. This is one of the most
authorative lists. Would you accept this as an answer?

Hi jackieyu,
This search is more complicated than I originally thought. Some of
the top pharmaceutical companies are also in other businesses. Are
you looking for a list of the top 20 standalone pharmaceutical
companies? The top 20 companies ranked by pharmaceutical revenues? Or
just the top 20 pharmaceutical companies in revenues, no matter where
the revenues came from?
Thanks,
secret901-ga

Hi jackieyu,
According to Fortune 500[1], The top 14 pharmaceutical companies in
the United States, with their revenues for 2001 (in millions of
dollars), are:
1. Merck 47,716
2. Johnson & Johnson 33,004
3. Pfizer 32,259
4. Bristol-Myers Squibb 21,717
5. Pharmacia 19,299
6. Abbott Laboratories 16,285
7. Wyeth 14,129
8. Eli Lilly 11,543
9. Schering-Plough 9,802
10. Amgen 4,016
11. Allergan 1,685
12. Genzyme 1,224
13. Ivax 1,215
14. Forest Laboratories 1,205

Please keep in mind that not all the revenues for these companies are
pharmaceutical-related. For example, $25,518 million of Pfizer's
$32,259 million in revenues are pharmaceutical-related, making it #1
if we were to rank the companies according to only pharmaceutical
revenues. Since I have incomplete information regarding this, I shall
only show the top 3 companies[2]:

1 Pfizer, Inc. 25,518
2 Merck & Co. 20,456
3 Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. 16,285

If you're interested, there is also a list of the top 20 worldwide
pharmaceutical companies, ranked by their revenues in 2001.[3]

I hope that answered your question. If you need clarification, please
request for it before rating this answer and I will be happy to
clarify for you.
