I need a roller-clutch ratchet assembly, not as part of a tool, but as
a
stand-alone component (about 25mm diameter).
NASA researchers have produced one which they incorporate in a wrench.

The Honeybee RACLS technology is closely related to another
NASA-sponsored technology: "Three-dimensional roller locking sprags"
(see patent info below). Because we believe that these technologies
are complementary and that most suitable mechanism applications will
require both, Honeybee Robotics has obtained a non-exclusive license
for the 3D Locking Sprag technology from NASA and is thus able to pass
both technologies on to propective licensees within one licensing
agreement.
