Our MX records are with Name Secure; they refuse to forward to our
ISP. Is there anything that can be done about this? Have others had
this problem? (The customer service phone number is no longer active;
the voice message says that due to high activity they will only
respond to fax or email. I have faxed and emailed daily, but no luck |

Hello
Do you have the ability to change the Namerserver details on your own
accord? Perhaps in web control panel page supplied by Name Secure, or
going directly to the registry (perhaps it is Verisign -
http://www.verisign.com ) as you are presumably the admin contact for
the domain name.

No, the MX records are one of the settings that the user can not
change. Additionally, it indicates that namesecure.com has to change
them

cab55,
MX records access doesn't seem to be implied as part of their
services.
For clarification, have you visited the 'My Account Area' yet, and
tried to add a forwarding address?

Hello
if you go to Verisign (who acquired Network Solutions)
https://www.netsol.com/en_US/help/modify-dnr-01.jhtml
and check your domain name in the whois yourself to see if your name
wsa registered there / has an account there.
If it does, you can technically modify the nameservers (as the admin
contact), and host your domain elsewhere (pointing back to your
webspace) then you will also have full control of your email (billing
continues to be through Name Secure unless you change the billing
contact too).
https://www.netsol.com/en_US/help/modify-dnr-06.jhtml
- though I'm not sure with Name Secure (if they have a reseller
account ) if you can ask verisign for a separate log on and password.
I would have thought the admin contact has more power and say on the
domain name than the technical contact for the domain name. Verisign
will only send email to the email address that appears in the whois,
if they do entertain you in your circumstances, though it might be
worth a try (if your domain name is a Verisign aka Network Solutions
name)
