Hello ryno35-ga,
I noticed that several researchers had locked this question but didn't
post a clarification request or a comment. I've taken a look at this
question myself and felt stymied by a preliminary survey of what
Omnibus is about. Could you give us some help by explaining what you
think the market issues might be and who you consider to be the
competitors? This looked like a very interesting question to research
but I just couldn't get my arms around it. I look forward to your
further input.

Hi,

I had a look at the site you mentioned.

I can tell you one thing - newsroom automation, broadcast automation
and media assets management are fields which have major players
including Grass Valley Group, Inscriber, Leitch, Dayang, Avid, Natural
Studio, Sony, Panasonic, Thomson, etc. I am not sure if I can get you
details of their pricing, market share, etc., but I can certainly get
you the information on their products.

These products and solutions are high-end, complex and systems that
need large-scale integration. If you understand what I mean, it is not
like a single stand-alone item that like a video server or a switcher,
of which one can find a price. Mostly, these systems are integrated
from various components according to the needs of the user.

I was personally technical consultant for a TV channel where I worked
with a number of these solution-providers to envisage a complete
newsroom automation and asset management system. The process took 4
months to complete, culminating in a report that had schematics and
component listings, and of course, a total price including system
design, integration and installation costs.

warm regards
